Dr. Walter “Wally” Strash is a graduate of Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and Carleton University. He is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in both foot and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgeries. In 1991, Dr. Strash founded Alamo Family Foot and Ankle Care, P.A.
In addition to evaluating and treating patients, Dr. Strash is active in various clinical research projects with an interest in diabetic foot ulcers and pain management, a lecturer and consultant, an associate professor at the University of Texas San Antonio Health Science Center’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery, and serves on the board of the Specialty Surgery Center. Additionally, he has been published in numerous medical journals and books, including Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, Foot and Ankle Quarterly, The Journal of Foot Surgery and Principles & Practice of Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Strash is married with four children. He is an instrument-rated private pilot flying to Uvalde, Texas for patients, as well as other locations, providing medical and legal advice to patients and attorneys. When he’s not working, Dr. Strash enjoys water sports and Taekwondo, and spends most weekends with his family.
Business Manager
Lisa Baine has been with Strash Foot & Ankle Care since its inception 25 years ago. Throughout her career, Lisa has managed all aspects of the business, including billing, client relations and general operations. A graduate of the University of Mississippi – or Ole’ Miss – Lisa earned her BBA with an emphasis in management studies. Prior to joining the Strash Foot & Ankle Care family, Lisa worked for University Orthopedic Associates at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. When Lisa isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her son, Connor.
Billing Manager
Adela Molina-Carriero joined the Strash Foot & Ankle Care family 13 years ago and has served several roles prior to being promoted to billing manager. Born in San Antonio, Adela moved to a small town in North Dakota where she spent the majority of her childhood. Returning to San Antonio during high school, Adela graduated from South San High School in 2002. Married for nine years, she and her husband have three beautiful children. Adela serves in the Women’s Ministry Girlfriends group at her community church, as well as participates in Kidworks, a group dedicated to showing the love of Jesus with children in the ministry.
Surgery Coordinator
Specializing in surgery coordination, Brittany Salazar has been a member of the Strash Foot & Ankle Care family since September 2016. An x-ray technician and medical assistant, Brittany loves helping patients. Born in Denver, CO, she traveled the world before settling down in San Antonio. Brittany is the mother of four beautiful children – two boys and two girls. When she’s not serving patients, Brittany enjoys spending time with family, fishing and hunting.
Medical Assistant/Receptionist
Rani Martinez is most likely the first person you’ll hear on the phone and see when you enter Strash Foot & Ankle Care. A graduate of Kaplan College, Rani is a certified medical assistant and receptionist, with a goal to become a registered nurse. Born and raised in San Antonio, Rani is married and has two wonderful children. She enjoys gardening, baseball, barbecuing and the beach.
