PalinGen Amniotic Injectable | A No Surgery Solution

PalinGen Amniotic Injectable | A No Surgery Solution

Many of my patients visit me with complaints about excruciating and often debilitating foot pain, and are concerned about possible surgery and downtime. At Strash Foot & Ankle Care, we are committed to evaluating ALL possible treatments, and the good news is, many conditions DO NOT require surgery. Instead, a simple injection like PalinGen could treat your condition.

PalinGen is an amniotic membrane injectable that works exceptionally well for treating plantar fasciitis and other tendon pathology. In many circumstances it will prevent the need for costly surgery that has an extended recovery time and risks.

Amniotic membrane is a unique material and its composition contains collagen types I, III, IV, V, and VII. Amniotic membrane is composed of structural extracellular matrix (ECM), that also contains specialized proteins fibronectin, laminins, proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans. In addition, amniotic membrane contains essential, active, healing growth factors such as epidermal growth factor (EGF), transforming growth factor beta (TGF-b), fibroblast growth factor (FGF), and platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF). Amniotic tissues have shown little to no HLA-A, B, C antigens and 2 microglobulin. TGF-beta has been shown to significantly increase type I collagen production by tendon sheath fibroblasts. It has been suggested that growth factors work in a synergistic manner to initiate a tendon and ligament healing response.

Patients receive the PalinGen injection to the involved area on their foot and ankle and then are placed in a fracture boot for three weeks. After this 3 week period of time they will return to use of regular shoes and begin exercising. Success rate is on the order of 90% in 90% of patients.

If you are experiencing foot pain, don’t wait! Give me a call today and I’ll make sure you’ll place your best foot forward, again!
